Audit of Historical Financial Statements/Information
Audited financial statements provide the user with the auditor’s opinion that the financial statements are presented fairly, in all material respects, in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework.
Review of Historical Financial Statements/Information
Reviewed financial statements provide the user with comfort that, based on the auditor’s review, the auditor is not aware of any material modifications that should be made to the financial statements for the statements to be in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework.
The Examination of Prospective Financial Information
Prospective financial information relates to events and actions that have not yet occurred and may not occur. While evidence may be available to support the assumptions on which prospective financial information is based, such evidence is itself generally future oriented, and therefore, speculative in nature, as distinct from the evidence ordinarily available in the audit of historical financial information.
